"Blessed is the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only does wondrous things." (Pslam 72:18) The word "only" makes it absolute. God never does anything unless it is wondrous whereas we do ordinary things all the day long every day of our lives.

In the book of Psalms we read: "PRAISE THE LORD. IT IS GOOD TO SING PRAISES UNTO OUR GOD; FOR IT IS PLEASANT; AND PRAISE IS FITTING. THE LORD BUILDS UP JERUSALEM: HE GATHERS TOGETHER THE OUTCASTS OF ISRAEL. HE HEALS THE BROKEN IN HEART, AND BINDS UP THEIR WOUNDS. HE TELLS THE NUMBER OF THE STARS; HE CALLS THEM ALL BY THEIR NAMES. GREAT IS OUR LORD, AND OF GREAT POWER: HIS UNDERSTANDING IS INFINITE." (Psalms 147.1/5)

In the beginning of The Thousand Year Reign, the Lord miraculously brings about the final Aliyah or Exodus from the world to Israel of the Jewish people. He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds. This will be a wondrous work in the establishment of his global Kingdom.

When you consider how the Jewish people are scattered all over the earth on the other sides of the great oceans, you will have to wonder how the Lord will be able to bring about The Final Aliyah after destroying the civilizations of mankind with fire so there are no planes or ships to transport them; but when that great day comes, and the Lord signals for his people to return to Israel; you will see a wondrous work such as you could never have imagined.

Our understanding is finite, but the Lord's understanding is infinite and He has the all powerfulness to do the wondrous things he thinks to do.

We do not know how many stars there are in the Universe God created, but we are told they are as the sand of the sea. Imagine how wonderous it is for God to be able to identify and call out the name of each grain of sand on the shore of a sea then you will have an idea of how wondrous a thing it is for the Lord to be able to call out the name of the stars.

It is written: "IN BLESSING I WILL BLESS YOU, AND IN MULTIPLYING I WILL MULTIPLY YOUR SEED AS THE STARS OF THE HEAVEN, AND AS THE SAND WHICH IS UPON THE SEA SHORE; AND YOUR SEED (ISRAEL) SHALL POSSESS THE GATE OF HIS ENEMIES." (Genesis 22:17) So Israel is in for quite a surprise in The First Resurrection when Christ returns to set up His Thousand Year Reign. Israel shall become the Queen of the nations and Christ shall reign from the rebuilt temple in Jerusalem over all the nations of the earth. This will be a wondrous thing for those who see it.

When you ask God to something for you in prayer, be aware he prefers to do great and wonderous things. How many times we must fail in prayer because we have asked for too small a thing when we could have stated our needs more wisely to let God work wonderously. We serve a wondrous God. Ask him to do wondrous things for you, not to consume it upon your lust; but to further his glory.
