In the holy book he wrote, Job asks: "BUT THE THUNDER OF HIS POWER, WHO CAN UNDERSTAND?" (Job 26:14)

Saint John wrote of his experience: "AND I HEARD A VOICE FROM HEAVEN, AS THE VOICE OF MANY WATERS, AND AS THE VOICE OF A GREAT THUNDER: AND I HEARD THE VOICE OF HARPERS HARPING WITH THEIR HARPS:" (Revelation 14:2)

Such messages in the holy Book defy even our imaginations. Nonetheless, we know by faith they are true.

We are told, when God speaks thunderously, the waters of the ocean flee. "AT YOUR REBUKE THEY FLED; AT THE VOICE OF YOUR THUNDER THEY HURRIED AWAY." Psalm 104:7

Saint John was caught up to heaven where, our of God's "THRONE PROCEEDED THUNDER AND LIGHTNINGS AND VOICES." (Revelation 4:5)

Would you know what God is saying without his revealing it to you? We can do nothing of ourselves, but we can remind ourselves of the awesomeness of God in an attempt to fortify ourselves against the evil nature we wear.

Elihu told Job: "AT THIS ALSO MY HEART TREMBLES, AND IS MOVED OUT OF HIS PLACE. HEAR ATTENTIVELY THE NOISE OF HIS VOICE, AND THE SOUND THAT GOES OUT OF HIS MOUTH. HE DIRECTS IT UNDER THE WHOLE HEAVEN, AND HIS LIGHTNINGS UNTO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH. AFTER IT A VOICE ROARS: HE THUNDERS WITH THE VOICE OF HIS EXCELLENCY; AND HE WILL NOT STAY THEM WHEN HIS VOICE IS HEARD. GOD THUNDERS MARVELOUSLY WITH HIS VOICE; GREAT THINGS DOES HE, WHICH WE CANNOT COMPREHEND." Job 37:1/5

Too many people have a mental picture of gentle Jesus walking among the Israelites teaching and healing them in the first coming and are not mindful he is the Mighty God who comes like Samuel the Prophet forecast as though it were already done: "THE LORD THUNDERED FROM HEAVEN, AND THE MOST HIGH UTTERED HIS VOICE." (2 Samuel 22:14)

Since God cannot fail to do what he says he will do through his Prophets, those things are said to be done; though they are yet to come to pass: As soon as Christ conquers the earth, the Prophet John tells us: "AND A VOICE CAME OUT OF THE THRONE SAYING, "PRAISE OUR GOD, ALL YOU WHO ARE HIS SERVANTS, AND YOU WHO FEAR HIM, BOTH SMALL AND GREAT. AND I HEARD AS IT WERE THE VOICE OF A GREAT MULTITUDE, AND AS THE VOICE OF MANY WATERS, AND AS THE VOICE OF MIGHTY THUNDERINGS SAYING, "ALLELUIA: FOR THE LORD GOD OMNIPOTENT REIGNS. LET US BE GLAD AND REJOICE AND GIVE HONOUR TO HIM: FOR THE MARRIAGE OF THE LAMB IS COME, AND HIS WIFE HAS MADE HERSELF READY." (Revelation 19:5/7)

When you hear the thunder in the sky now, perhaps you will listen a little more carefully.
