In the beginning of creation "the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the earth." (Genesis 1:2)

"GOD IS A SPIRIT AND THEY THAT WORSHIP HIM MUST WORSHIP HIM IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH." (St. John 4:24)

If we are to know God, we must know Him in the Light of His Spirit.

Believers are to "live according to God in the Spirit." (1 Peter 4:6) "The flesh is contrary to the Spirit" so there is spiritual warfare involved. Sinners choose to follow the lusts of their flesh. The elect are to "live according to God in the Spirit."

It is through the Spirit of God we "mortify the deeds of the flesh" (Romans 8:13) to overcome evil with good.

God is an eternal Spirit. He has always been, and always will be.

      He inhabits eternity.

Saint Paul wrote in Galatians 5:22: "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:" These nine virtues of the fruit of the Spirit define the God we know as we grow in His Light.
