It is against Jewish custom for Israelites to marry Gentiles. How is it the churches in America have come to believe they will be the bride of Christ?
There is one verse of Scripture in use that seems indisputable regarding the presumptuous notion of Christ returning to take the Gentile peoples as his bride. A very romantic idea, and religious leaders in America love to tell their flocks what they want to hear; so many Gentiles will become emotionally disturbed when told they are not the bride.
So let me remind you of the precept "to the Jew first," and how there is an obvious attempt in the doctrines of the Gentile churches in America to usurp the promises from Jewish Israel, taking them for themselves with the presumption the works the Gentiles are doing for God are great and holy works; which they are not. And neither are the Gentile believers in America a holy people set apart unto God as they should be.
Saint Paul wrote, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; TO THE JEW FIRST, and also to the Greek." (Romans 1:16)
And "glory, honour, and peace, to every man that works good, TO THE JEW FIRST, and also to the Gentile:" (Romans 2:10)
"I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present [you as] a chaste virgin to Christ." (2 Corinthians 11:2) Now for those who are well studied in the Scriptures and advanced in the Light that Christ is, you may already know the Word of God is full of Dark Sayings; and here we have one. The [you as] inserted into the literal text is manmade. It is not there, but was presumed to be there.
Read the text above without it and another meaning is manifest. Saint Paul will present "a chaste virgin to Christ". He will present the 144,000 to Christ when it is time for the wedding on Mount Zion. Christ is already engaged to the 144,000 and by Jewish practices is referred to as the "husband" before the actual marriage ceremony takes place. This is something religious leaders in America ought to be mindful of when they attempt to interpret 2 Corinthians 11:2.
This "espousing" of the Gentiles at Corinth to Christ refers to the mystical relationship of both Jewish and Gentile Saints to the Lord. I am not at liberty to explain this espousal to you since it is part of "the great mystery of godliness" but I can testify after thirty years of Sainthood, that the anointing that abides within teaches all things including this mystery when the believer as a living sacrifice serves Christ faithfully in the realm of the Spirit, crucifying the flesh daily to speak in the sword of the Spirit, to the lost and the saved without price.
Now the word "harmozomai" is the engine that drives 2 Corinthians 11:2 for the many religious leaders in America telling their flocks what they want to hear, that without living holy lives as living sacrifices, and without hiding the Word of God in their heart that they might not sin against God, and without studying to show themselves approved of God as workmen who need not be ashamed, they get to be the bridge of Christ even though the promises are to the Jew first.
Take the word "harmozomai" out of 2 Corinthians 11:2 and there is not another text in the New testament those same religious leaders can use to insist the Gentile Church throughout the world, and down through the Centuries, that has not produced one Moses, nor one Elijah, nor one Joshua, nor one Elisha....is going to be the bride of Christ.
The word "harmozomai" is not used that much in the New Testament to provide solid evidence to a Translator as to its meaning, but if you know anything about the Greek language, you know its a language of nuances with more than one meaning available to almost any Greek word.
Look at what Saint Paul was doing with the Corinthian Church. In his first holy epistle to them, he calls them babes. In his second holy epistle to them, the great man of God is bringing them into Sainthood, into the harmony of oneness with Christ. He is fitting them together in Christ corporately. These are all alternative meanings to the the word "harmozomai" in 2 Corinthians 11:2. Once you realize espousals works mystically in 2 Corinthians 11:2, but the verse is better understood to be a fitting together of the Church into perfect harmony with Christ, then you will understand they were never intended to understand they would be the bride of Christ standing on Mount Zion with him immediately after the earth is conquered and the Lord is ruler of all the world.
Once you have gotten past that little bump in the theological road, and that's all it is; a little bump totally unsupported by any other Biblical text, then you are ready to move on to the Revelation that is so obvious in sacred Scriptures. There have to be guests for the wedding, and the millions upon millions of Gentiles saved from the first Century on are it. In the first Resurrection Christ sets down on the Mount of Olives and there is an earthquake all the way to Azal as a monument to his conquest of the earth, and the beginning of the thousand year reign is set in motion.
In setting his global Kingdom (to come) in order, one of the great events is his wedding. Now lets take a careful look at what the Lord had to say when he was first here on the earth as a God-man.
In St Matthew 22:1/10: Jesus spoke unto them again by parables, and said, "The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. (= Israel) Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: (= Israel) And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them. (= crucifixion instigated by the Pharisees) But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. (= prophecy of the fall of Jerusalem to come in AD 72) Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. (= Israel) Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. (= Gentiles) So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. (= Gentiles)
You should know corporate Israel was not worthy to be the bride of Christ in the first coming, after all they were responsible for crucifying their Messiah of their own race, and you should know Gentile believers throughout the world down through the Centuries have not lived holy lives corporately.
Just those facts alone eliminate speculation of a Gentile bride of Christ. "Glory, honour, and peace," is to THE JEW FIRST, (Romans 2:10) so the great honour of being the bride of Christ belongs to the Jews, and since secular Israel continues to eliminate herself sinfully in today's world; we are left with the one holy and devout group of 144,000 Jewish men referred to in sacred Scripture as "the servants of God" (Revelations 7:3) while they were yet among the living here on the earth before the Second Coming of Christ.
In Chapter seven of the book of Revelation we see the 144,000 are sealed in their foreheads but we are not told why.
The next time the 144,000 are found in the prophecies is in Revelation 14:1/5 where Saint John wrote:
"And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goes. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God."
The 144,000 are the bride and the time for the wedding has come in Revelation 19:7/9 where it is a blessing to be invited to it, so there is no reason for Gentile believers to object to not being the bride.
"And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife has made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God."
Then the heavens are opened (Revelation 19:11) for the Second Coming of Christ to Resurrect his people to the clouds and to dissolve the works of mankind with fire. The Lord brings with him those that "sleep in Christ" including the 144,000 who have made ready for the wedding.
"For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him." (1 Thessalonians 4:14)
Once the conquest at Armageddon is complete and the dissolving of mankinds works worldwide if finished in THE HOUR OF HIS JUDGMENT, (Revelation 14:7) the Lord sets down on Mount of Olives and the 144,000 are seen with him soon thereafter on Mount Zion when the wedding takes place.
There is no other candidate for the bride of Christ so obvious as the 144,000. Yet the promotion of false doctrines having become traditional beliefs in the churches throughout America; have become so institutionalized; believers no longer feel free to search the Scriptures to discover the truth for themselves, but receive what they are told without question.
"IF THE LIGHT THAT IS IN YOU IS DARKNESS, THEN HOW GREAT IS THAT DARKNESS?" Jesus asked.
Remedy this situation now by "STUDYING TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED OF GOD" as the Word says to do.
