In this series we will examine the Scriptural abuse that is presently taking place worldwide as religious leaders claim the anointing and tickle the ears of their followers for a price telling them how they already have the anointing and just have to learn to walk in it.

MYTHS SURROUNDING THE ANOINTING:	COMMENTS
JESUS SPOKE OF HIMSELF AND OF NO OTHER, SAYING: "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;....Isaiah the Prophet 61:1/2	Many a religious leader with a following says "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings...." Generally there is a presumption that if they obtain a pulpit or have the ability to publish a book or buy air time on religious media, they are going to receiving the anointing to preach. Isaiah the Prophet was forecasting the ministry of the Lord who spoke those words when it was time for his ministry. The Messiah we know as Jesus came as God in the Christ child. Jesus literally grew into the Spirit of God already in him, and that Spirit was already perfect from the child's conception to the death of Jesus who was perfected on the cross in his flesh. Religious leaders are usurping the Word of God right out of the mouth of Jesus yet they are not born with the perfect Spirit of God in them, nor does any new believer receive the fullness of the Spirit permanently; but what we all receive in the baptism of the holy Ghost is "THE INCORRUPTIBLE SEED" of the Spirit and that must be nourished by our obedience to the whole Word of God which we must hide in our hearts so we might not sin against God. Those prerequisites must be met along with the need for every believer to STUDY TO SHOW THEMSELVES APPROVED OF GOD that they might be called into full time service unto God, not as religious leaders supposing themselves to have arrived to full maturity in the Spirit; but as disciples living in the same absolute poverty Christ calls all his disciples to live in so such might grow up into Him being taught ALL THINGS by the ANOINTING THAT ABIDES WITHIN for only those with the calling to WALK AS CHRIST WALKED. This is a GREAT MYSTERY OF GODLINESS that cannot be claimed, ...it must be earned in its proper sequence of growth with those who attain to the calling completing the work in the Spirit of building THE NEW CREATURE IN CHRIST, then the Lord and not a religious Seminary; will appoint the individual his work and anoint him to do it.
That all of the body of Christ is filled with the Spirit upon receiving the baptism of the holy Spirit.	No, the body of Christ receives "THE INCORRUPTIBLE SEED" of the Spirit and is responsible individually to (2) hide the Word of God in their heart that they might sin against God, (3) to study to show themselves approved of God, workmen who ought not to be ashamed in speaking of the Word of God to others; that the Lord might call them into his work full time as disciples walking as living sacrifices, (3) that upon acceptance of this calling, the disciple must do all that disciples are taught to do in the holy Scriptures (A) serving only one Master, (B) taking no thought for tomorrow, (C) leaving family, friends and employment behind to learn to walk in the Spirit, and (4) whether it takes three years as it did for the apostles to graduate into their office of ministry or the rest of the disciples life, when and if they have fulfilled their course and have graduated, the Lord will give them their work to do in the Spirit of his anointing once they have build themselves into NEW CREATURES IN CHRIST. So it is INCORRUPTIBLE SEED must be grown up into Christ into a great tree of faith bearing all of the fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22)
That the mantle of another man's anointing can be passed on.	Elijah was the Master who trained Elisha, his disciple; but it was not the two fold anointing that Elijah tossed from the chariot of God as he was swept up to heaven, but the answer to his disciple's petition as to whether he could expect a TWO FOLD ANOINTING. Elisha caught the mantle and was assured of his request, but mantle was not the anointing. Like any holy man, Elisha had to walk in all of the laws of the Spirit to walk in the anointing. It is a serious mistake to suppose anyone can walk in someone else's anointing. The anointing is always earned and the Lord of glory who is the anointing always decides how long he will abide in the temple of clay of those who diligently seek him.

That ministry or business success proves a man is in the anointing. It is very clearly stated in the Scriptures that GAIN IS NOT GODLINESS. Mankind looks upon the appearance of things. If a religious leader has huge multitudes attending his meetings, that in no way proves he is in the anointing. Consider seriously whether he is telling people what they want to hear rather than what they need to hear. Those who remove the cross of suffering and sacrifice from the Gospel will have many followers and will sell many books, but will know nothing of the anointing themselves.

That someone can receive the anointing by the laying on of hands. The Apostle deposited a gift of the Spirit by the laying on of hands to a qualified Saint already skilled at walking in the anointing, but there is a difference between a gift in the Spirit and the skill to continually walk in the Spirit of Christ. The anointing is earned and it is out of the abiding anointing that the gift of a Spirit must work. Gifts of the Spirit do not work in the flesh when the Spirit is quenched.

Because Jesus lives in the believer, the anointing of Jesus is perpetually present and only needs to be manifested by faith. The same truth applies here as was already applied to the misconception that the baptism of the holy Ghost provides the anointing. When anyone receives Christ as Saviour, it is usually a prelude to their receiving the baptism of the holy Ghost, and at that time THE INCORRUPTIBLE SEED OF THE SPIRIT is received. Have you ever seen the seed of a tree? Plant it in the ground and nourish it with water and fertilzer and make sure it is plentifully exposed to the Light, and that tree will grow into the fullness of its potential if all goes well for it. But plant it in bad ground in a dark place with little nourishment or water and it will not go well with that seed.

That Colossians 2:9&10 proves the body of Christ is complete in Jesus and has all of THE FULLNESS OF THE GODHEAD BODILY in themselves. This claim applies only to those who are ROOTED AND BUILT UP IN CHRIST. "THE LABORERS ARE FEW." There are so few laborers in the Spirit of the anointing, chances are you have never met one though you have been a Christian for years. Saint Paul was talking to Saints ROOTED AND BUILT UP IN CHRIST. When reading the Word of God it is important to know to whom the message is addressed to. Now here is the context those who claim the body of Christ already has the fullness of the Godhead bodily, ....have so inconveniently missed. Saint Paul wrote in Colossians 2:6&7: AS YOU HAVE THEREFORE RECEIVED CHRIST JESUS THE LORD, SO WALK IN HIM: ROOTED AND BUILT UP IN HIM, AND ESTABLISHED IN THE FAITH, AS YOU HAVE BEEN TAUGHT, ABOUNDING THEREIN WITH THANKSGIVING." He was addressing Saints already ROOTED AND BUILT UP IN HIM. He was not addressing secular believers who had not given up their lives for the Gospel.

Anything power attributed to the disciples of Christ who graduated to apostles also applies to the body of Christ. In many instances, the promoters of A SPIRIT FILLED BODY OF CHRIST do not realize nor do some of the more ruthless merchandisers care; that they are corrupting the Word of God. If the body of Christ in America is SPIRIT FILLED, why is the country becoming more like Sodom and Gomorrah every day. Doctrines are like people, we are to know them by their fruits whether they be good or evil. The doctrine of A SPIRIT FILLED BODY OF CHRIST is of the devil. It is the Adversary's strategy to convince every child of God that they have arrived, that they already have the power and Light he doesn't want them to discover, for the Devil knows that SPIRIT FILLED Saints will destroy his works.
